CommentsDate: 08 Jul 2003 Time: 23:37:46: ORIGINAL POST My wife Angie and I greatly enjoyed the performance of HE LOVED ME here in Fort Myers, FL. We could tell by the many sobs around us that God was working in the hearts of the people in the audience. Having traveled with the Academy of Arts almost 10 years ago myself, I am so thankful that God is still greatly using this ministry for His Glory. Keep up the good work A of A, and may Christ be praised! Pastor Marty Moon
Comments"Thank you so much for a wonderful evening of ministry. Your professionally done, spiritually motivated and decision focused presentation was enjoyed by all. The fellowship on Saturday was also a blessing. Come back when you have an opening or need for lodging." Quote from note from Hope Bible Church, FL - Brother Hadley
CommentsThis ministry has been a tremendous blessing and challenge to my family and I during the last few years and we are so grateful for your ministry and the great work you are doing for our Lord! May the Lord find us faithful! The Ben Cure Family

CommentsThe Academy of Arts is an awesome ministry. Dr. Chavers has started something that is God honoring, and it is a blessing seeing his daughters and others follow in suit. Andrew- Valley Forge Baptist Academy

CommentsMy name is Megan Thomas. I'm fifteen years old. I have been doing the plays for almost four years now and I really love it. Acting is so much fun and Nicole has been a awesome teacher. Thank you so much for doing this stuff for us. Its been wonderful. Can't wait to see you in January again.
CommentsHi, this is my second year with the Chavers and I just wanted to say thank you for everything you've taught me. You all are such a blessing and I pray God continues to do his work through you. Kristle Manetta
Comments"I thank my God upon every remembrance of you..." There are no words to say that can thank you enough for everything God has taught me through you and I love you all more then I can say. Thank you Chavers family, staff, and Southern Team of 2003! Casey
CommentsI havn't been with the Academy for a long time, but I'll still remember all the fun, and crazy things that we did. But most of all I remember the times after a hard week with the students, hearing the testimonies and seeing what God had done through us that week. That was the best feeling I'll ever have! I hope that someday I can get back down to SC to see the improved building and everything else! Hey, Doc, remember the time that you and I laid the carpe in the sound room! What an experience, remember all the hours that I spend in that room trying to hook everything up to that wood rack, and hanging the speakers! Man what AWESOME memories I have! I guess I better stop before I cause the site to go down b/c I wrote to much! Talk to ya later and you''ll have fun now ya hear! God Bless - Justin Alexander (justin@alexandervideoproductions.com)
CommentsI was deeply touched and motivated by the Academy of Arts when they did a seminar at my school both in 2002 and 2003. I have been praying about possibly attending the Academy of Arts myself in the near future as I am ending my high school career. Thank you, Drama Teams, for the way in which you use your talents to serve God! Misty N. Jones; Calvary Christian School-- King, NC
CommentsIt was refreshing to see a group of Christian young people do a biblically based drama. The play "Trials of Faith" done by the Maryland Homeschool Group in Thurmont, MD, was deeply moving. The stage lighting and make-up were professionally done -- it was obvious that the homeschoolers were well trained during their drama camp! What a testimony to the glory of God! Thank you, Academy of Arts staff, for staying by the stuff.
CommentsHello! I'm writing to say you all did a fantastic job with the group of children from Corinth Christian Academy. Thanks for coming down and sharing with them. May God bless your ministry. In Christian Love, Angie Howell

CommentsI just wanted to write and thank you and the team for giving up your time to come to good ol' Tabernacle and help us out with the drama. I know y'all were a big blessing to me, and I think I can speak for the rest of the students when I say you and the team were a blessing and encouragement to all of us. It was so awesome, and such an encouragement to know that young people our age have devoted everything they have to Christ. I will continue to pray for you and the team. That God will use you in other schools like He did in ours, to touch the lives of young people. If you are doing another drama in the area in the near future please let us know. If not, hopefully we will be able to have you guys come back and help us again next year. Thanks again and God Bless!! (Tabernacle Christian School, Hickory, NC)

CommentsA warm hello to Dr. and Mrs. Chavers and to the Stutzmans, Nicole, Wendy, and Natalie from Joe Fox here at Northland (still). I'll be graduating this May, married this June to a wonderful young lady named Chariti, and starting ministry as a Youth Pastor in Oshkosh, WI. We're excited to see what the Lord has in store for our lives in the future. Doc, I was able to take alot of what you and Wendy and Nicole taught by example in drama and used it to produce my own play a few years ago. What a wonderful time to see 7 saved because of the play and you all were directly part of that. I remember as a very young leader and a preacher all of the many issues I had as a novice- and I am thankful for your patience with me in teaching me. Not that I've arrived- but I am glad to know pour my life and heart into 60 teens at the church we are headed for this June. Wyldewood Baptist Church, www.wyldewood.org has a christian school and a fair amount of youth that might warrant a trip from one of your college teams. I love you all and have thought of you often from the day I left. In Him, Joe Fox jfox@nbbc.edu
CommentsI have heard much about the academy of arts from former travelers, thank you for endeavoring to show the world that Christians can and should be involved in entertainment, and that drama can be used as a tool to minister to hearts!
Commentsvery nice site and also very worthy program you are doing.................keep up the good work jeryce_6977@yahoo.com
CommentsI just want to thank you for the wonderful job that you did at Trinity Christian School in Rock Hill this week!! Praise be to our wonderful Savior for the changes in lives thru the drama, "No Place to Flee". I know that my son, Daniel Taylor, was touched deeply and very excited about the Summer Drama Team possibility. Thank you for allowing God to use you in this wonderful ministry and the way you are impacting young people for the Kingdom. May God bless you!
CommentsI just want to say that the Academy of Arts is an incredible ministry. I was just like the "typical Christian" before the Academy of Arts team came to our school. I claimed I was a Christian and I knew a lot about living a Christian life...but let's just say -- it's not what you know, but what you do with what you know. I can know everything there is about being a Christian, but until you apply what you know into your life...you know nothing. The Lord totally changed my life through the ministry of Nicole and the Academy of Arts team, and I honestly owe them my gratitude. Its unbelievable how one person, you've barely known a week, can leave a mark in your life that will last a lifetime. She is, in all seriousness, by far, the strongest Christian I've ever met. And I've lived in a Christian environment all my life, and I have met a lot of Christians. But something about her is so encouraging and so...true -- I guess you can say. She is a true Christian. And from this point on...since the moment I met her, that's what I want and strive to be. I know most likely I will never see Nicole again, and most likely she will never know how much I owe to her...but if there's one thing that I will remember till the day I die, it's how the Lord used her to change me, and save my life. God Bless You Guys! - Morgan Eller - Millbrook, AL
CommentsI LOVED YOUR HOMESCHOOL DRAMA CAMP. I participated in 2000 and 2001 camps. We did Trials of Faith and No Place to Flee and I loved them! I really wish you would come back to the Indianapolis area soon! I absolutely love acting and would love to further my experience! Please consider coming back!
CommentsI have participated in two of your homeschool drama camps and loved every minute of them! The strength of character and the love all the staff had for the students was amazing. I have always been interested in acting, but had never been a truly serious/challenging play before. I fear that the Academy of the Arts has ruined any other kind of play for me now! I have gotten semi-involved in some drama groups since then, but have found them to be far short from the dramatic,thought-provoking, and Biblically sound plays that I worked on with the Academy. If you could, please send me any information you can about the summer traveling teams and the upcoming workshops in the Indiana area.
CommentsHi! I attended the Academy of Arts in 4th and 5th grade ('87-'88, '88-'89) and loved it. It was an amazing experience to be a part of the productions and choir. I have never seen another school with such a thorough music program for children. It was one of the highlights of my childhood. Just stumbled upon this site and wanted to say HI! :) ~Christy Wilson (maiden name Runyon)
CommentsHowdy ya'll! This is Seth, figure i'd leave another post just to let you guys know that i really miss you all and can't wait until next year. i'm thinking about the summer...i'll be in contact. you guys have an awesome ministry and i believe God is really using you to change lives through drama. God Bless!!! Seth
CommentsYou've been coming to our church for many years now. We've thoroughly enjoyed each and every presentation, especially last year's. I don't remember the name of it, but it really touched our hearts. Patty Bailey Prairie View Baptist Church Lake City, IL
CommentsIf someone were to ask me what is one of the things that made the biggest impact on my life, I would say without any hesitation the Academy of Arts. I am now a pastor's wife in TN. The lessons about ministry and the Christian life while traveling with the academy have been so helpful. Thank you for all you do. You are changing lives. Linda (Miller) Martin
CommentsWe have always enjoyed your Summer Drama team presentations. We recently read a biography of Adoniram Judson and my three young elementary children remember well the play you did a year or two ago. We are all excited about the homeschool drama camp coming up next week. We look forward to working with you and learning much. Thanks for all you do.
CommentsI was greatly blessed and moved by your Summer Drama Team that came to Jax. FL and performed Adoniram Judson's missionary journeys. Excellently done! I was very much impressed with the quality of the entire performance and the individual commitment and God-focused hearts of the actors. Thank you for the inspiration!
CommentsThe summer my daughter was able to travel with The Academy of Arts continues to have an enormous impact on her life. It is such an encouragement and blessing for my wife and I to see God working in her life, and her desire to live for Him. Sometimes I wonder who gets the greater spiritual benefit from The Academy’s ministry, the audience, or those on the team. Thankfully, it doesn’t have to be one or the other.
CommentsWe enjoyed the pictures of the wedding, Wendy is beautiful, she looks just like her mother. Wish we could have been there. Thanks for keeping us updated. Larry and Linnae Keller
CommentsI love The Academy of Arts drama camps!!! I was in "Trials of Faith" and "No Place to Flee" a few years ago. Doing these two plays were honestly some of the most memorable, inspiring, and awesome experiences I've had. Aside from these camps, there has not been much drama opportunity in my area-those that I have tried were, for the most part, a disappointment. Nothing can compare with the experience that these camps offer. I hope to see a team come to the Indianapolis area again soon!!! I would especially like to thanks Nicole. You've been an awesome inspiration to me. I look up to you so much. I also miss you and would like to see you again, even though I'm sure I remember you more than you remember me. :) Thanks for everything! ~Lindsay
CommentsThank you Academy of Arts and Dr. Chavers for all that you do. You all have been an encouragement to me, and I wish you the best. I pray that the Lord continues to bless you wonderful ministry. Congratulations to Gabe and Wendy!:-) Joshua Piper
CommentsI'm so glad to see that the Lord is continuing to bless The Academy of Arts. I know this ministry has touched many people. Dr. Chavers and his family have allowed themselves to be used of God and He has multiplied their talents and kept them on solid ground. The Lord used the A of A in my own life and I am thankful for the lessons learned and opportunities given. God bless. Clayton Van Huss
CommentsTo the Academy of Arts ministry: Thank you so much for the inspirational teams you send out each year. I have seen "America at Ground Zero" and "He loved me". Just seeing the dedication to your program and a love of God through those teens eyes made me want to travel with you, so I applied! And now I am proud to tell others that I am a part of the ministry of the Academy of Arts, a 2005 drama team member!!! Thank you again so much, and I hope to be one of those teens that can also be used by God this summer! -Jennifer Davis
CommentsI think it's great that you are going to California!! I only wish I was on the team to go! Keep up the great work!
CommentsI am so glad that you've have been coming to Dowling Park (Advent Christian Village) for the last few years. I have only been able to participate the last two years but have enjoyed them tremendously. We have a great time acting but we also learn so much about God's word when it comes to life like this. This years seminar actually ended with our program only three days ago. I did not want it to end but it can't last forever. The play we performed was Trials of Faith and it went great. I think that the message got across to the audience very clearly. Thank you'll so much and I hope that you will continue to come and present this great ministry. Blayne Barber(Older Timothy) Lake City, FL.
CommentsYou guys are totally awesome. Your Homeschool Drama Camp is the highlight of homeschooling for me. You let the truth be known through plays and I always learn a ton.
CommentsWhat a wonderful job your group did with the Fredericksburg area Homeschool Drama Camp last week. My son (4th grader) had a phenomenal experience preparing for and participating in "A Day in the County". In fact, my husband and I saw a dramatic side of him that we have never seen before! :-) We truly enjoyed both the elementary production of "A Day in the Country", and the HS production of "No Place to Flee". The latter production was particularly touching and thought-provoking. Thank you for all your hard work!
CommentsOur family just recently enjoyed watching the drama"The Sanctity of Life" performed at Tabernacle Christian School in Hickory, NC. We homeschool our children and felt it was a great message for our children to learn. Having taught them abortion is wrong, they were able to see exactly why that is so. Thank you for your ministry. What a blessing! Sincerely, Charles and Betsy Russell Rock of Ages International Prison Ministry
CommentsMy name is Tyne Wilmot and your group came to my high school for three years. I had the privilege of working or acting in each production and because of what I learned through those productions decided to add Theatre as a major along with Communication. I would also like to thank Wendy for teaching me about make-up my freshman year, because of you, Wendy, I have been able to be the make-up designer for my college for two productions now. Thank you all for your hardwork and some of the best memories I'll ever have. Sincerely, Tyne Wilmot
CommentsI loved being in The Academy of Arts Drama camp for the homeschoolers in Greenville, SC. The team leaders made us want to do our best for the Lord. They also made the play "No Place to Flee" come alive in our hearts and lives as we practiced and performed. Thank you, Dr. Chavers, for starting such a wonderful ministry that benefits everyone
CommentsI attend Calvary Christian in Covington KY and I just wanted to say you guys taught me so much! You have a great heart for God. See ya next year! - Branden Heineman (official in the play "No Place to Flee")

CommentsHey y'all! Remote User:
CommentsThank you so much for all your work with our homeschool group here in Cincinnati. So much has come from that one week. I have one story to share. I invited a new homeschool family (on a WHIM -- I thought) to visit with me on the last day of camp. The mother had her step-daughter with her on a visit from CA. This daughter does not live with her Christian step mother but with her (unbelieving) natural mom. This girl had expressed many doubts of the reality of God. She has not had an easy life. AT the time of our visit, the older group was running through their last reading of "No Place to Flee." The wonderful director had been working these kids "hard" running them through the words over and over again. The effect on those of us standing there was quite powerful -- it was almost as if someone was hitting "replay" -- it was powerful. The women of this young girl immediately felt led to purchase tickets for her entire family. That evening they all came (including her step- daughter and a friend from the area.) The entire family was truly impacted by the play -- including of the testimony of these young people (totally unscripted) who were crying and telling the audience words directly from their hearts. This mom and her daughter along with the entire family were overwhelmed that these "nice" seemingly "perfect" kids would be saying they needed help in their (spiritual) lives. It had such a dramatic impact. Later on, the mother reported that her step daughter had said she did believe there was a God. That one week of drama camp reminded me of a verse I read this morning -- "Other seed fell on good soil where it produced a crop... 100 fold, 60 fold and 30 fold." I am imagining your drama team now into a brand new week -- working with a brand new set of students -- and how one week produces a "crop" of 30, 60 and 100 fold." Thanks be to God for putting talent and a vision into one man, Nicky Chavers, and how it has grown and continues to grow exponentially! I will hold you on my prayers.
CommentsI had so much fun! I wanted to thank everyone who put up with us during the week! Thanks Nicole, Mollie, and especially Carol, for helping us realize the importance of this play (No Place to Flee). When I first got my part (Mrs. Martens), I read through my part and the rest of the script, and it didn't mean that much to me. Then, after being told not to act, but to temporarily become, my life totally changed. The entire play hit me like a ton of bricks. I began to see a change in my spiritual life through the workings of this production, and I cried for days because I missed the spiritual and emotional side of being at the church all day every day. I must say that this play also changed the way I viewed and participated in Teen Pact Ohio, a government education program that centers on the Christian form of government. I think that doing a play all about people who lost their rights and freedoms sparked in me a passion to prevent those same things from happening here in America. Thank you all so much, and I will hope to see you all in the fall!

My name is Amanda McCord and I had the privilage of traveling with one of the summer drama teams in 2002. I unfortunately got out of touch with you guys. I had been e-mailing Wendy for a short time before a whole lot of trials took my family and I by storm. If you could please give Wendy my new e-mail address and if she remembers me, ask to to contact me. I don't have any Godly women in my life right now and she was one I looked up to. I could use some prayers and advice. I love your ministry and I pray for you and your teams all the time. I may have lost my focus since the summer of '02, but because of the experience I was blessed to have I haven't lost my way. So thank you! Remote User: Sent: Friday, May 18, 2007 3:15 PM I wish I could be at your theater for the "Through Much Tribulation". I'm sure it will be a blessing to all who are able to go. Oh, I know that Ryan Ferguson guy personally and he is great guy besides being a great performer. His time spent on 6 different summer drama teams has helped to make him the man he is today. This opinion is totally unbiased. Love to all at the AOA! Judy (Ryan's mom)
