JUNE-JULY-AUGUST
2003 NEWSLETTER
|
| "For
God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son."
Without
the faithful giving of our regular supporters we would not be
able to continue the ministry of The Academy of Arts. Thank
you for your prayer and financial support!
This summer we have 42 students and staff from 14
different states traveling on four different teams presenting 3
different productions. Ricky Blaha and Carol Dagg
are leading the All American
team which is presenting AMERICA AT GROUND ZERO.
Daniel Pigott and Natalie Chavers are leading the Southern
team that is presenting HE LOVED ME, our newest drama that
was written by Wendy Chavers, who is leading the Eastern
team with Tommie Bream and also presenting HE LOVED
ME. James Baker and Nicole Chavers are
leading the Midwestern
team which is presenting THE COST OF GREATNESS, the
second portion of the life of Adoniram and Anne Judson, America's
first missionaries.

The
itineraries for each of the teams can be located on the download
feature of our Website. We certainly want to thank Ken and Lydia
Hines for designing and maintaining our website for us. Their son,
Michael, is a first year summer team member, however, Michael traveled
with our ministry as a baby up until he was five years old. His
parents both worked on staff and met, married and continued on
staff, together, for almost seven years. They now minister
together through the Ministry
Resource Center.
We rejoice with reports of hearts being changed and families being
brought together through the ministry of our four teams.
Keep praying for each team member's health, safety and spiritual growth
as they continue to present God's Word in this unique way.
TAYLORS
BUILDING: Progress was made this past month in the renovation
of the Taylors Headquarters. We have
come to a stand still until the Codes people and the Fire Marshall can
agree on certain regulations. Do pray for all the folks involved
in these decisions. We would love to see some of them eventually
come to know the Lord. Join us as we seek the Lord's direction!
SPECIAL
PRAYER REQUEST: A three year veteran team
member, Emily Fisher, was driving to work on May 19th in the rain
and had a very bad experience.. She lost control of the car and suffered
a back injury that has left her paralyzed from the waist down. Emily
played the part of Anne Judson in MARKED FOR GREATNESS and
Loren in AMERICA AT GROUND ZERO. Emily has had a
wonderful ministry with us and we praise the Lord for bringing her into
our lives. As usual, she has taken the new challenge the Lord has
allowed and is determined to use this circumstance to bring others to
Christ. We appreciate her continued positive zeal to serve her
Lord who makes NO mistakes.
Emily
was released from rehab June 26, 2003 and will be married on July 5th to
her finance, Michael, in Michigan. They plan to live
in Hampton, VA after the wedding. Do pray for Michael and Emily as they begin
their life together. We would like to surprise Emily with a
special item that she needs to help her with her school work.
If you would want to help us purchase this gift, you may send a
gift to our office and designate it for EMILY. Since it is
a surprise gift…we will share the surprise online after August
11th when we plan to send it to her. Emily and Michael would
have been seniors at PCC this fall….Lord willing our gift will
help them in their completion of college work. The cost is
approximately $3,000.00. Our office address is:
The Academy of Arts, PO
Box 782, Taylors, SC 29687 Phone:
